Meet Claire

Meet Claire, my newest character.  She is just a sketch right now but, I will be creating a clay figure and vignette of her.  I may even make it interactive with movable parts.  This may be a series because so many ideas are bouncing around in my head right now.

So, anyway, here is her story:

Little Claire played on the stairs,
She fell down and cracked her crown,
The blood drained from her little head,
Poor little Claire,
Now she's dead................

I have no idea where she came from or why her story is so tragic but, it is what is.

I see dead people..................

Get off your ass and make something already!!!!

I have created this blog as a way to hold myself accountable for getting some work done.  My husband and brother have put a lot of work and money into creating some great studio spaces for me and I am determined to put them to good use. 

I am by nature a slacker and a dreamer.  I don't mean to be this way really.  I agonize over my lack of focus, everyday.

I have times of great procrastination and moments of absolute brilliance all bundled up inside of one little brain.   I am all at once Schizophrenic and painful and all tied up in knots and then suddenly enlightened and free.  It's a really wild ride just being me.

Anyway, things are about to change.  My freshly painted, sunny, yellow room is perky and bright and filled with possibilities.     

Today I will get some organization done in my little yellow workroom and then I will begin a new project.

Hi, my name is LaLa.  I am a mixed-media artist, soap maker, and instructor.  I favor working with polymer, fabric, paper, paint, and metal but, I will incorporate whatever I can get my hands on into my art.  So don't sit still for too long when you're in my presence!  Just kidding, well not really, be careful!

I love to sculpt.  I love creepy dolls and all things dark, macabre, and just a little bit sinister.
